Cross-Platform Mobile App (iOS & Android)
A React Native app delivering a seamless audio experience on both platforms. The interface is designed for ease — three steps from open to listening: pick a story, add ambient sound, and let history unfold.
Audio Playback Engine
Custom audio playback with background play support, offline caching, progress tracking, and resume-where-you-left-off functionality. Users can listen during commutes, workouts, or wind-down routines without interruption.
Ambient Soundscape Layering
A standout feature — users select an ambient soundscape (wind, piano, nature) to layer beneath the narration, creating an immersive listening environment that makes historical content feel cinematic rather than educational.
Tag-Based Content Discovery
25+ stories categorised by historical period, region, and theme. Users browse by tag — ancient Rome, Greek philosophy, medieval Europe — discovering content relevant to their interests rather than scrolling through an undifferentiated list.
Offline Listening
Stories are downloadable for offline playback — critical for a listening app where connectivity cannot be guaranteed. The cache management system handles storage efficiently without requiring user intervention.
